Enabling both HDMI and VGA via the BIOS

Description 

How to configure an ASRock system board if HDMI Output has been lost and both HDMI & VGA monitors are being used.  

Product 

  • ASRock H110E1 system board

Steps to Reproduce 

  • Connect a monitor to the HDMI connector
  • Connect a 2nd monitor into the VGA connector 

Expected Results

Both monitors display video 

Actual Results

Video is lost on both monitors 

Solution

  • Reboot the system and enter BIOS by pressing F2 prior to booting into the OS
  • Navigate to Advanced > Chipset Configurations
  • Ensure the Primary Graphics Adapter is set to PCI Express 
  • Scroll down to and enable the IGPU Multi-Monitor option
  • Exit and save settings
