Samsung Cameras not connecting to Client after Updating to 23.06.1

Description 

Certain Samsung Cameras are not pulling in camera details or live streams after updating to exacqVision Server version 23.06.1.

Product 

  • exacqVision Server 23.06.1
  • Cameras:
    • Samsung QND 7010R, firmware 4.00 2016
    • Samsung QND-7020, firmware 4.00 2016

Steps to Reproduce 

  • Update to exacqVision Server 23.06.1
  • Camera connected and working as intended on Server Version 23.03.1.
  • After updating, cameras will sometimes connect and not show camera details or live streams. Sometimes the camera’s will not connect at all.

Expected Results 

Cameras should connect and show details and live streams.

Actual Results 

Cameras will sometimes connect and not show camera details or live streams. Sometimes the Camera’s will not connect at all.

Solution

We have seen changing the plugin type to Onvif will allow the cameras to function properly in the client.

Note: If you are using Motion Detection please make sure that the cameras are set up properly.

A fix might be in AES-596 is scheduled to be released in Oct, 2023.

Unable to Set StartTLS Email Notification Port

Description 

The port drop down box will not allow you to change the port from SSL Port 465 to StartTLS Port 587. If selecting the StartTLS the port will not change to Port 587 which StartTLS uses.

Product 

exacqVision Client 23.03.0.0

Steps to Reproduce 

When setting up an Email profile in the Email notification the client will get stuck on SSL/TLS when trying to select STARTTLS on new setup. The behavior seen by selecting StartTLS is the port does not change the port number to Port 587 but instead lists Port 465.

  • Set up new email Server Configuration.
  • In Example above I added the Description of test, an address, and selected the Security drop down of StartTLS which was stuck at Port 465.
  • As seen, the port remains on 465 and should be port 587.

Expected Results 

The port drop down menu should be able to select any of the three option we offer. Default port is 25, SSL/TLS port is 465, and StartTLS is port 587.

Actual Results 

StartTLS option never selects Port 587.

Solution

This has been resolved update to exacqVision Client version 23.03.1.0 or higher.

Time Triggers Activate On Wrong Day

Description

Event Linking Time Triggers using custom days of the week are activating on the wrong day.  They are triggering 1 day earlier so events set for Saturday are triggering on Friday and so on.

Tested Version

  • exacqVision Server 22.12 – 22.03

Steps To Reproduce

  • Create a new Event Linking action
  • Set Event Type to Time Trigger
  • Under Event Source select New
  • Configure a time trigger
    • Give the trigger a name
    • Select a Start Time and End Time
    • Set Frequency to Custom
    • Select the current day of the week
  • Set Action Target to Notify

Expected Results 

  • On the day and time specified in the Time Trigger
    • Event Links Status switches from off to on
    • An email is sent

Actual Results 

  • Event links status stays off
  • An email is not received

Solution

  • Downgrade to exacqVision Server version 22.09

System Unexpectedly Reboots Into Recovery Mode Then Enters Factory Restore

Issue

When system reboots and boots up to recovery mode it selects “Factory Capture” by default leading the system to commit a full factory restore upon pressing “enter”.

Solution

Windows

  1. Open CMD, using Run as Administrator
  2. Enter mountvol z: /s
  3. Enter z:
  4. Enter dir
  5. Enter cd EFI/BOOT
  6. Enter notepad refind.conf
  7. Search for the default_selection entry
  1. Set the parameter to “1” instead of “factory restore”
  1. Save your changes and reboot the NVR

Linux System

The file at ‘/boot/efi/EFI/BOOT/refind.conf’ will need to be edited in the same way it is for the Windows instructions. Instead we would follow these steps:

  1. Open Terminal (CTRL+ALT+T)
  2. Enter sudo -i
  3. Enter caja (this should open a file explorer type window)
  4. Navigate to /boot/efi/EFI/BOOT/refind.conf
  5. Right-click and open file a text editor
  6. Edit the text as shown in Step 6 of the Windows instructions above.
  7. Save your changes, close the file, and restart the system

Windows 7 System Show Drive as Offline

Description 

Windows 7, Windows Embedded images have reported seeing drive as offline. This is a false negative.

Product 

Server 23.03, 22.09, 22.06.

Steps to Reproduce 

  • Go to Storage section in the client and select the Drive tab.
  • Drives show up as offline.
    Drives are mounted in OS and have data recording to them.

Expected Results 

The drives should not show offline.

Actual Results 

Drives will show up as offline, if you disable one, I found that most will correct but that another drive number might show up as offline.
Another Indication is that the Hardware tab will show improper status as well.

Solution

Corrected in RC 23.03.2 or wait for next release in June 2023.

Bosch Security Integration Causing Operating System to Crash

Description 

As soon as you enable (check the Bosh integration profile . the system will reboot the exacq server service.

Product 

Server Version 20.03 up to 22.12 were experiencing this crash.
Panel in use: Bosch B9512GT

Steps to Reproduce 

Configure the Add Security Integrations Page in the Client

  • Select the Enable button
  • The server would lock up forcing the end user to restart the system.

Expected Results 

Exacq should not crash.

Actual Results 

The unit would crash as long as the Bosch Panel was connected to the network.

Solution

We found a timing bug that resolved the issue in Build ExacqVisionServer_23.03.174701.1_x64
This should be in the June 2023 official release.

Kantech will not stay connected on Version 22.09.2.0

Description 

Kantech Connection will not stay connected on Exacq Server Version 22.09.2.0. The connection will only stay connected for 5 seconds and then it disconnects.

Exacq Server 22.09.2.0
Reported on Kantech 8.30.05 and 8.50.

Steps to Reproduce 

  • Update server to 22.09.2.0
  • Check connection status in integration page and integration will disconnect.

Expected Results 

Integration should remain connected

Actual Results 

Integration connection status changes to Disconnected.

Solution

Update to Build 22.09.1628700.0 or wait for December 2022 Release.

Event Monitoring is not Allowing the Analytical Event Source to be Created and Reverts to Tampering

Description 

If you are exhibiting an event monitoring rule for analytical Event Source of any type you can not save the event rule IF your SYSTEM name of the NVR is the SAME name as the Event Source Device.

Product 

  • exacqVision Server 22.06 and higher.

Steps to Reproduce 

Go to Event Monitoring and set the rule up.

  1. Select the Event Type: My Example is a Analytics
  2. Event Source of Fountain Square-Donations (ext2612)- Object Analytics Any Scenario.
  3. Select the Action Type: Switch View
  4. Select Action Target to the device you are switching to. ST View and hit apply.
    Below is the set up.
  1. Below is what happens when you hit apply. The Event source will switch to tampering.

Expected Results 

The event should be created.

Actual Results 

The event switches the source to Tampering

Solution

WORKAROUND: In this example the Server name is Fountain Square. SHORT-TERM Workaround: Change the name of the server from Fountain Square (e.g. to Fountain Square Srvr) such that the server name is not the first part of any rule name. Confirmed to work.

CCure Integration Incorrectly Limited to 256 Devices


Description 

Updating to exacqVision Server version 22.06.x limits the number of displayed devices to 256 for Ccure Integratations.

Product

Steps to Reproduce 

Update server to 22.06

  • Go to the integration under Add Security Integrations.
  • Select the integration and notice the amount of devices allowed.
    For this Example there are no devices connected to the integration but if there were, it would only show the list up to 256 items when the server is on 22.06.

Expected Results 

Should show all the devices connected to the integration.

Actual Results 

We were limiting the devices to 256 devices.

Solution

There is a build that will allow more than 256 devices to show up for CCure.
