General Transfer Rules
- The license being transferred “From” must have a current SSA.<br><br>
- “From” and “To” licenses must be the same level. (Start, Professional, Enterprise)<br><br>
- An existing “To” license keeps its SSA end date. This includes “To” licenses with an expired SSA.<br><br>
- New “To” or “Zero” licenses:
NOTE: A “Zero” license is an existing license that has had all IP channels transferred away- If it is an Exacq-built server “Zero” license and the SSA end date is more than a year in the future, then it keeps its own SSA end date. If less than a year, it receives a full year.
- If it is a new license then it receives the SSA end date of the “From” license regardless of the existing “From” SSA end date. Again, the “From” license cannot be expired. This may be the next day or five years in the future.
- If it is a “Zero” license for server hardware built by a third-party, then it receives the SSA end date of the “From” license regardless of the existing “From” SSA end date. Again, the “From” license cannot be expired. This may be the next day or five years in the future.<br><br>
- An Edge or Edge Plus (Edge+) IP channel may only be transferred to a new MAC address.<br><br>
- A Lifetime SSA does not transfer when an IP channel is transferred from a Lifetime SSA server to a non-Lifetime SSA server.
Licenses with Lifetime SSAs can be renewed at no charge by the Exacq Orders Team at exacqorders@tycoint.com<br><br>
Enterprise Manager
- IP channels transferred from an Enterprise Manager license pool come with one year of SSA. That SSA is then distributed among any existing IP channels on the “To” license.<br><br>
- Channels cannot be transferred from an existing license to an Enterprise Manager pool.<br><br>
- Per the above rule, once a license has been transferred from the license pool, it cannot be moved back to the pool.<br><br>

Using the SSA tools on Exacq.com
- Navigate to https://exacq.com/ssa/
<br><br> - If looking up a single recorder, enter the license key or licensed MAC address. This will report the number of licensed channels and the functional level as well as the SSA expiration.
Continuing by completing the form will assist you in obtaining quotes for changes and updates.<br><br> - If looking up multiple recorders, you may upload an exported CSV file of systems, or enter a list of system serial numbers or MAC addresses.<br><br>
- In the resulting table you may view the License Level for each system as well as the Original SSA expiration date.
Continuing with the form will assist you in obtaining quotes for SSA extensions or adding IP channel licenses.
Only one license key may be applied on each system at a time. This license key includes information on the number of licensed IP Cameras the system is permitted to use as well as the specific system it is assigned to.
For information on increasing your licensed number of cameras or changing your license level, contact your authorized exacqVision dealer.

Individual License Update
To apply or update an individual system license, expand the exacqVision Server node on the navigation tree along the left-hand side of the Client window, then select Configure System.
On the System tab, the License section is found to the right. There are multiple methods available to apply a license to the software.
From Exacq.com
If your exacqVision Server has an internet connection, this is the simplest choice. This method will automatically pull the most recent license generated for the system.
- Press the Import button.
- Select ‘From exacq.com‘.
If there is a particular reason necessary for applying a license that was not the most recently generated, see the additional options below.
From File
If the server does not have an internet connection, you may use the .KEY file issued by Exacq Orders via email.
- Press the Import button.
- Select ‘From File‘.
- Navigate to the directory where you have saved the .KEY file to select and apply it to the system.
Manual Entry
The license key code may also be manually entered. The key code is also issued by Exacq Orders via email.
- Type the license key code into the License text field at the top of the license section.
- Press the Apply button.
All keys are displayed in XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XX alphanumeric format.

Batch License Update
A .KEY license and corresponding key code may be used on a single exacqVision Server, whereas a properly formatted .CSV file can be used to license multiple exacqVision servers with a single import. This method is useful for enterprise environments managing many servers.
- Create a new file (using a spreadsheet program or hand written text file to be formatted as CSV) where each row contains the system’s licensed MAC address in the first column and the license key code for that MAC address in the second column. If using Excel to create this table, be sure to save as .CSV.
- Select the Systems node from the very top of the navigation tree on the left-hand side of the exacqVision Client.
- Below the Systems list panel, select the Import License button.
- Navigate to the location of your .CSV file to select and apply.
You may also utilize the Export Licenses button to export a properly formatted .CSV containing this information for connected systems, which may be useful for keeping site records. If updating licenses rather than licensing for the first time, edit the exported file for later import to save time.

The exacqVision VMS software licenses a specific number of channels to a key based upon the server NIC’s MAC address.
A license includes the maximum number of IP devices, an SSA period for software updates, analog video channels for Hybrid NVRs, and the functional level for the software. The functional levels are:
- Start
- Professional
- Enterprise
See the Features Matrix for comparison details.<br><br>
Multiple NICs
If you have multiple NICs, the MAC address of only one NIC must be licensed. MAC addresses of the individual cameras are not required for a valid license.

Software Subscription Agreement
A license key is valid for the period chosen when ordering. This license key includes a Software Subscription Agreement (SSA) allowing the software to be updated to versions released prior to the expiration date. Updates add new functionality and features, and may address bug fixes.
When an exacqVision SSA expires, no functionality of the software is lost. The system will continue to operate as is, but you will no longer be able to update to newer versions as they are released.
Additional years of SSA are available for purchase at the time of initial purchase or at a later time.
A new license key may be imported to expand he number of connected cameras, enhance the feature level, or extend the SSA period without restarting the software.
