Failure to Receive Events from Illustra Pro Gen4 Multisensor

Description

Users fail to receive alerts and/or ExacqVision actions configured through Event Linking or Event Monitoring fail to occur when using an Illustra Pro Gen4 Multisensor camera as the source.

Steps to Reproduce

None. This issue exists in firmware prior to Illustra.SS017.06.05.00.0008

Expected Results

Analytic events, including those caused by motion detection, are received by ExacqVision.

Actual Results

ExacqVision stops reporting analytic alerts, including motion, from all but the first sensor.

<br.

Solution

Update the camera firmware to Illustra.SS017.06.05.00.0008 or later.

If the configuration is incorrect due to the previous firmware, perform either of the following:

  • Toggle the Video over HTTP and Video over HTTPS settings from within the camera’s web browser interface.
  • Factory reset the camera after firmware upgrade.

exacqVision DSX Integration Guide

Overview

DSX is a powerful access control system monitoring application. This integration solely supports PTZ, Live View and Recorded View video and utilizes evAPI.

Requirements

  • Licensed exacqVision Server 23.09 or later
  • WinDSX version 3.7.52 or later

<br>

Installation

Before configuring WinDSX for use with the exacqVision System, complete the following steps:

  1. Obtain a valid Username and Password from the exacqVision Server that will be used with WinDSX.<br><br>
  2. Obtain the IP address of the exacqVision system. Alternatively, you may use the domain hostname if the system is on the same domain as WinDSX.<br><br>
  3. Obtain the User ID and Password for the WinDSX Database/Server.

    NOTE: It is strongly advised to use or create an account with limited privileges for this purpose. (e.g. – Live + Search)<br><br>
  4. Download the exacqVision plug-in for WinDSX from https://support.exacq.com <br><br>
  5. Proceed with the Configuration section

Configuration

  1. On the WinDSX server, install the exacqVision plug-in for WinDSX. Follow the on-screen prompts.<br><br>
  2. From the Start menu, select All Programs > WinDSX. Log in using the User ID and Password obtained previously.<br><br>
  3. Click the Database window:
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;a. Double-click Locations.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;b. Double-click your location.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;c. Click Camera.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;d. Click on the New button in the menu to display the New Camera window.

  1. On the General tab, enter the following information:
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;a. Camera #: This is generic, such as 1, 2, 3, and so on. It is not the same as the camera number on the exacqVision Server.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;b. Name: This can be any name that you want to assign to the camera.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;c. Camera Type: Select Exacq Technologies from the drop-down list.

  1. On the Digital Video Camera tab, enter the following information:
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;a. DVR Server Name: Enter the IP address of the exacqVision Server.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;b. Assign Cameras: The number of the exacqVision camera (numbering starts at zero). See TIP below.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;c. DVR Server User Logon: The exacqVision Username obtained previously.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;d. DVR Server Password: The exacqVision Password obtained previously.

    TIP: Clicking Help > Camera List from the exacqVision Driver window will show all camera names, camera IDs, and input numbers on the server. Use the camera ID in step 5b above.

    NOTE: If you are using a PTZ camera, select the PTZ box and enter any preset position you want to see in the PTZ Preset Position field.

  1. Click OK.<br><br>
  2. Click the Workstation window.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;a. Double-click your location.
    &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;b. Click Cameras.

  1. The cameras defined for your location appear in the right window. Right-click any camera and choose Live Video or Recorded Video from the pop-up menu. A window with the desired video is displayed.

<br>

NOTE: If socket errors appear when you try to view live or recorded video, ensure that the dongle is correctly plugged in and the DSXKey service is running on the WinDSX server.

Server 23.09 Fails to Run on Ubuntu 14.04 x86

Description

Users with Ubuntu 14.04 x86 (32-bit) experience an error when attempting to install or update to ExacqVision Server version 23.09.

Steps to Reproduce

Attempt an update or fresh install of ExacqVision Server version 23.09 on a Ubuntu 14.04 x86 system.

Expected Results

Installation without error

Actual Results

The following error is encountered:

/usr/local/exacq/server/exacqd: /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1: version ‘GCC_7.0.0’ not found (required by /usr/local/exacq/server/exacqd)

Solution

Perform the following steps:

  1. Open a Terminal window (CTRL+ALT+T).<br><br>
  2. Enter the following commands in the order given:
    • sudo apt-get update
    • sudo apt-get install --reinstall ca-certificates
    • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-toolchain-r/test
    • sudo apt-get update
    • sudo apt-get install gcc-7<br><br>
  3. Reboot the server<br><br>
  4. Run the ExacqVision Server installer

Uninstalling Illustra Body Worn Camera Kiosk 2.x and higher

Complete the following steps to fully remove all components of the Illustra Body Worn Camera Kiosk software and remaining settings files.

  1. Access Windows program features using one of the methods listed:
    • Press the Windows task bar icon and type ‘remove’, then select the ‘Add or remove programs‘ search result that appears.
    • Press the Windows task bar icon and click the gear icon for Settings. Within the Windows Settings window, select Apps.<br><br>
  2. Within the Apps & Features window locate each of the following components. Select each one and choose ‘Uninstall‘.
    • Body Worn Camera
    • Illustra Mobile Live Relay
    • Illustra Mobile Video Manager
    • JCI Dock Controller<br><br>
  3. After uninstalling the above listed components, locate and delete the following folders, if they have not already been removed:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Tyco\BodyWornCamera
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Tyco\DockController
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Tyco\LiveRelay
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustra Mobile Video Manager
    • C:\ProgramData\BWC
    • C:\ProgramData\Tyco
    • C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\JCI Dock Controller<br><br>
  4. Reboot the machine.

Onvif -Motion Not Working When Updating from 23.06 to 23.09

Steps to Troubleshooting

  1. Get PCAPs/ Logs from the 23.09 version
  2. Test adding an override of #config=dynamic to the camera’s address field on Add IP Cameras page
  3. Examine the logs to identify the following log message:
onvifnvcPI Verbose 10.247.216.144 searching for relevant settings<br>in JSON config file

Once troubleshooting is complete, roll the customer back to 23.06 for the time being until the issue is fixed. (See update at the bottom of page.)

Tier 3 Will create New Tickets based on the Manufacturers and link them to AES-701.

Update: When seeing motion issues with the above logs please see if Version 23.09.9.0 will allow motion and free run will record.

Illustra Body Worn Camera Indicators

The following is a reference for the meaning of several indicators that may appear on the Illustra Body Worn Camera screen during use.

  1. REC – indicates that the camera is recording to local storage<br><br>
  2. Information – pressing this icon on the camera’s touch screen displays the information panel with details about the camera<br><br>
  3. WiFi – when lit, this icon signifies that the camera is connected to a WiFi network<br><br>
  4. ONLINE – displayed when the device has a connection the Mobile Video Manager software and is ready for live streaming (live streaming requires a valid license)<br><br>
  5. Battery – indicates the current charge level<br><br>
  6. Alert – displayed when a configured action button has been pressed (See Integration Guide)<br><br>
  7. IR ENABLED – indicates the camera has enabled IR mode for poorly lit scenes<br><br>
  8. PRIVACY MODE ENABLED – camera wearer has enabled Privacy Mode, preventing Live streaming
    (Requires camera firmware 8.2.0.111 or higher)

Upgrading BWC Kiosk Software

Upgrading the Illustra Body Worn Camera Kiosk software versions 1.x to Kiosk versions 2.0 and above is NOT supported.

Kiosk 2.0 represents a completely re-written application which will not update previous 1.x installations.

Users who wish to upgrade to Kiosk 2.0 and above will need to remove the 1.x application and perform a fresh Kiosk install with 2.0 or higher.

NOTE: A fresh installation of the Kiosk software will require rebuilding the Kiosk user accounts.

NOTE: When reconnecting to ExacqVision NVRs previously added users will no longer be associated with the previous user data as the underlying GUIDs will have changed.

Operating System Release Notes

Systems built by Exacq utilize customized OS images for Windows and Ubuntu (Linux).

There may be instances where it is necessary to check the release version on an Exacq system. The release notes are contained within the operating system in a text file titled Release_Notes located on the root of the OS drive.

File path to OS release notes:

Windows – C:\Release_Notes.txt -or- C:\Release_Notes-Win10.txt
Ubuntu (Linux) – /Release_Notes.txt
