Associations give exacqVision Professional and Enterprise users the ability to put their most important commands at their fingertips and improve their response time to critical alarms and events. Associations are completely customizable, users can adjust the text color, font, style, transparency, and location on screen to fit the specific camera view needs. 

Accessing Associations

  • From the cameras Live view, right click within the panel and select Associations.
  • From the Configuration tree,  Configuration > YOURSERVER > Associations

Reboot or Default a Camera from the exacqVision Client

Description 

Prior to the release of exacqVision Client Version 22.03 cameras could not be rebooted or factory restored via the Client.  With the introduction of the Camera Web Configuration feature, cameras can now be rebooted or factory reset from within the Client.

Solution

  • Access the cameras web interface via the camera web configuration page.
  • See Knowledge Base Article KB #7274  “exacqVision Camera Web Configuration Page” for instructions
  • Follow the camera manufacturers instructions to either reboot or factory restore the camera.

After restarting exacqVision Server service Acti motion windows are no longer present, exacqVision Server versions 21.12.xx and 22.03.1

Steps to Reproduce 

  • Update to exacqVision Server 22.03.1
  • Verify motion windows are present on the Motion tab of the cameras configuration page 
  • Stop and start the exacqVision Server service
  • Go back to the motion tab on the cameras configuration page 

Expected Results 

  • Motion windows are as they were before the service restart

Actual Results 

  • Motion windows are gone 

Solution

Motion still records but a rollback to exacqVision Server Version 21.09.xx is required in order to see the motion windows.    Models Known to exhibit this issue:

  • D52
  • D55
  • E53
  • E54
  • E56
  • E77

  This issue will be fixed in exacqVision Server 22.03.2 or higher

exacqVision Camera Web Configuration Page  

Description 

This enhancement released in 22.03 provides a means to access cameras web interfaces directly from within the exacqVision Client

General Information

  • Enhancement added in exacqVision Client version 22.03
  • Accessible from the cameras configuration page (Configuration > YOURSERVER > Configure System > Add IP Cameras > Camera Recording > YOURCAMERA
  • Will not be visible to users which do not have privileges to add/remove cameras 
  • Only available to exacqVision Clients which have network access to the cameras.

Accessing

  • Click on either the IP Address hyperlink or the globe icon located to the right of the thumbnail image. 
  • Depending on the camera model one of several things could occur
    • You will be prompted to enter login credentials for the camera’s web interface
    • You will be prompted to login, but the credentials are already populated.  (See Note 1
    • You will be automatically logged into the camera’s web interface.  (See Note 1
    • You will get a Page failed to Load message (see Note 2)

Note 1

Credentials will be pre-populated with existing exacqVision Client configuration information for some camera models.  

Note 2

Cameras with enhanced security features may show a Page failed to Load message with error ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID (-202)

Cert Error Resolution

Use a Web Browser

  • This option retains the clients SSL validation setting
  • Click the Open in Browser hyperlink in the upper right corner of the Cameras Web Configuration page 
  • The default browser should launch and open the cameras url

Disabling SSL Validation

  • An indicator warning should appear “Unable to validate SSL certificate”, If it does not click retry
  • Click the hyperlink within the indicator to navigate to Client Page
  • Locate the “Require SSL certificate validation” option and disable by unchecking
  • Return to the cameras settings page and re-open it’s Web Configuration Page

Exiting the Web Configuration Page 

  • Log out of the cameras web interface
  • Click the Camera Configuration hyperlink in the upper left of the Cameras Web Configuration page. 
  • Note:  Once logged in, navigating away from the cameras Web Configuration page will result in the Reload Camera Settings popup Window appearing.
  • Select the appropriate Response
    • Reconnect – Momentarily disconnect and reconnect to the camera and move away.  This is good if you have made changes within the cameras web interface. 
    • Don’t Reconnect – Move away without a camera disconnect/reconnect
    • Cancel – Return to the current Camera Web Configuration page

Enable Local Users Accounts is Disabled Within the exacqVision Client

Description 

The Enable Local User Accounts check box is grayed out (Disabled) on the Enterprise or Configure System ActiveDirectory/LDAP tabs.

Expected Results 

  • The Enable Local User Accounts checkbox is enabled 

Actual Results 

  • The Enable Local User Accounts checkbox is grayed out (disabled)

Solution

  • This is expected behavior
  • The Enable Local User Accounts checkbox will be grayed out (disabled) if the user is currently logged in as a local user.   
  • This is done to prevent users from accidently locking themselves out of the system.
  • To enable the Local User Account checkbox, you must first login as an Active Directory/LDAP user.

An encoder which supports HD analog will be required to connect an HD analog camera to an exacqVision Server.   Please check the IP Camera Integration database, https://exacq.com/integration/ipcams/, for encoders compatible with exacqVision.
