Disable or Uninstall exacqVision Web Service

Description

If you are not using the exacqVision Web Service and for cybersecurity reasons want to disable, you can either uninstall it or disable it from starting.

How to Disable the Web Service

Windows

Start -> Programs -> exacqVision Web Service -> Set exacqVision Web Service to start manually.

Or

Open Windows Services by going to Start -> Type “services” or “services.msc” in the Start Menu search -> Choose Services

Once Services is open, Find “exacqVision Web Service” -> Double-Click exacqVision Web Service -> change Startup Type: to Manual or Disable -> apply -> OK

Open a terminal window Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal and type sudo /usr/local/exacq/webservice/service.sh manual

How to Uninstall the Web Service

Windows

Start -> Programs -> exacqVision Web Service -> Uninstall

or

Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Locate and highlight “exacqVision Web Service” -> Choose Uninstall

Linux

Open a terminal window Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal and type Sudo dpkg –remove webservice

Exporting to USB drive

  1. Insert USB drive in the front or rear USB ports of the Exacq Server.<br><br>
  2. From the Search page, follow the directions for finding and marking the start and end points of the video desired.<br><br>
  3. Chose the Download and Export button from the toolbar. Shown, below, are the icons in Light, Dark, and Classic themes.

  4. When running the exacqVision Client without administrative privileges, users may only export to the exacqVision Files directory within their user account or a USB drive. The below example shows the appearance of this window where the USB drive is volume D:\. Clicking into D:\ will open the USB volume for exporting.

  5. When running the exacqVision Client with administrative privileges, users have the ability to select from any directory on the system, including the USB drive. Click into the USB drive to select it as the location for exporting.

    NOTE: If using Linux, navigate to the USB_KEY folder. This is your mounted USB device.<br><br>
  6. You may accept the default video File Name or create your own.<br><br>
  7. Choose Save and your selected video will be exported to the USB device.
