exacqVision Virtual Appliance (EVA) can be upgraded just like any physical appliance by using the update manager in exacqVision Client. As improvements are made to the appliance, you might want to upgrade the appliance itself. Complete step by step instructions for migrating a EVA server can be found in the latest exacqVision Virtual User Manual.
NOTES:
*Migration should only be performed by a System Administrator with a good understanding of VMware and who has rights to the datastore where the EVA appliance is located.
*EVA version 5.4 or later checks to see whether the old server backup data has been downloaded to mount point /mnt/export/evabackup, the 20GB drive configured on Virtual Device Node SCSI(0:1) Hard Disk 2.
*Upon deployment of a new EVA, the first startup checks the exacqVision license file. If it exists, it automatically re-applies all previous system settings to the newly deployed EVA.
*The exacqevaback.sh script is included in exacqVision Virtual Server 5.4.x or later. If you are migrating from Version 5.2.1.36311, the script must be downloaded below.
