Adding web service using server credentials does not enter password

Description

When adding a server, the user can select to use the same credentials and address of the server when adding a web service with the server. The single server add form will not correctly capture the password. Thus, the web service will not be able to be reached.

  • Go to web services (left menu in ESM)
  • Click on the web service from the list having this issue
  • Update the password, click apply

Illustra3 HTTPS support setup

Setting up Illustra3 camera for https support in 8.4.1 server.

<br>

  • All Illustra3 devices(Pro/825/625/mini-dome/mini-bullet/2mp LT Pro/Flex?) should all factory defaulted to both(http/https) modes with self signed cert.
  • 8.4.1 server will ONLY support all Illustra3 devices in both(http/https) mode.
  • To upload a cert file, log onto the camera web page. The http/https page is either in security or network/advanced settings page depends on fw.
  • Connect camera with server 8.4.1 and the lock will indicate HTTPS connection.
  • Only configuration is encrypted not the streams.

  2. connect Axis camera to 8.6.x server.

dpkg-reconfigure causes a false-negative error message

Description

Why would someone ever want to execute dpkg-reconfigure when edvrserver already installed? To re-execute any of the following postinst actions:

  • Update nsswitch.conf for our mDNSresponder.
  • Configure rp_filter for camera discovery.
  • Restore MISSING streampi.xml. (reminds me of a factory default)
  • Restore MISSING useraccounts.xml. (reminds me of a factory default)
  • Make pulse audio system-wide.
  • And of course, if you want to adjust your plugin selection set.

To be clear, this is a very rare situation, and I suspect no user should ever have a reason to attempt it anyway. But just in case they do, this KB addresses the misleading error message.

ESM needs to use port and address when building xdv for client

Description

If multiple servers share the same IP but have different ports. ESM will remove additional servers with same IP, only using one of the servers. It should include all of these servers.

user-admin fails to update own username on Start system

A user-admin cannot successfully change their own name on a Start system.

Your choice of name and password
Login to the system as the ‘test’ user
Change your username

Can still login with the old username.

notifypi – failure to send email on falling edge

Description

A NotifyPI enhancement was released with 8.4 which added the ability to specify ‘when’ to send an email: ‘Alarm Starts’, ‘Alarm Ends’ or ‘Alarm Starts and Ends’). However, the ‘Alarm Ends’ selection was failing to send the email when the trigger event (alarm) duration was shorter than the ‘Send Rate Limit’.
If the event duration was longer than ‘Send Rate Limit’, the email was sent as expected.

Crash when deleting UDP serial port

Description

Server crashes when deleting a UDP serial port. The crash happens for both the stand-alone UDP serial port or the Neo internal serial port.

Workaround

Workaround is to disable the UDP serial port before deleting it. To disable a stand-alone UDP serial port, set the usage type to None. To disable the integration serial port, disable the integration connection.
