How to Determine the Age of a System Using a Serial Number

Exacq hardware serial numbers include both the year and the week number the system was built. See How to Find the Serial Number of an exacqVision System for help in finding your system’s serial number.

There are a few different serial number prefixes depending on where the system was built. They are:

  • D14A
  • AV
  • ER
  • 355S
  • BH
  • SR

After this, the next 2 digits will indicate the year – for example:
D14A2408123456
This system was built in the year 2024.

Next you will find 2 digits that indicate the week number – for example:
ER2408123456
This indicates that the system was built in the 8th week of 2024.

The remaining numbers are incrementing unique identification numbers.

Server Serial Number Becomes Empty

Problem:

Server’s serial number field becomes empty.

Solution:

Fixed in server version 8.9.2. If for any reason the serial number field should become empty this will replace with the MAC address.

How to Find the Serial Number of an exacqVision System

Using the Client

Within the exacqVision Desktop Client application, click the Configuration (gear) icon from the top-left toolbar.

Click on the ‘Systems’ node from the top of the left-hand side navigation tree.

The grid displayed lists all systems added to this client. Find the ‘Serial Number’ column here.

NOTE: Systems that are software only installs on third-party hardware will display the licensed MAC address as the Serial Number.

Hardware Labels

Depending on the chassis style and age of the system, the location of the Serial Number label will vary.

This may be found on the side of the server chassis, the rear of the chassis, or in some cases inside the front cover/door.
