Cannot Connect to 3ware Controller Via the Webpage

You can install the latest 3ware software version to take care of this issue. Packages are available from Broadcom.

You must unzip and install the 3DM2_Software package. After installation, you must also install the WinAVAlarm component and then remove it after installation. A system restart is required after installation.

Assigning a Default Printer to the Windows User (Restricted) Account

If you want to print images from the ExacqVision software on an ExacqVision server, you might need to change the default printer. Because Windows is locked down when you log in as a User, you must perform the following steps to configure the default printer:

  1. Log out of the Windows User account.
  2. Log in to the Windows Admin account.
  3. From the Start menu, select Programs, Accessories, and Notepad.
  4. Type the following, where “Printer Name” is the name of the desired default printer (such as “Lexmark 2310”).
    • RUNDLL32 PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /y /n “Printer Name”
  5. From the File menu, select Save As. Change the filename to DefaultPrinter.bat (make sure the extension is not .txt).
  6. Open the Startup directory. In Windows XP, this directory is found in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Start Manu\Programs. In Windows 7, it is found in C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
  7. Copy the DefaultPrinter.bat file to the user profile in the Startup subfolder.
  8. Restart the server.

Default Windows User Accounts on Exacq Systems

When setting up a new Exacq system, the out-of-box experience will prompt you to create a default operating system account. This account will be given administrative privileges.

Additional user accounts may be created using the Kiosk scripts available on the Desktop. Kiosk user accounts have restricted privileges. The Kiosk account is blocked from all operating system functions and the user can only close the exacqVision Client and log out of the operating system account. This prevents the Kiosk user from shutting down the system, opening web browsers, or from starting and installing other applications while logged in as the Kiosk user. You are given the option to automatically log into the system with the Kiosk user account during creation of the account.

If you license exacqVision software and install it on your own computer, this script is not available, and you are responsible for configuring all operating system accounts and privileges.
