Illustra3 HTTPS support setup

Setting up Illustra3 camera for https support in 8.4.1 server.

<br>

  • All Illustra3 devices(Pro/825/625/mini-dome/mini-bullet/2mp LTĀ Pro/Flex?) should all factory defaulted to both(http/https) modes with self signed cert.
  • 8.4.1 server will ONLY support all Illustra3 devices in both(http/https) mode.
  • To upload a cert file, log onto the camera web page. The http/https page is either in security or network/advanced settings page depends on fw.
  • Connect camera with server 8.4.1 and the lock will indicate HTTPS connection.
  • Only configuration is encrypted not the streams.

Illustra Flex Gen 2 Models and IFS03D1LCWTT

Issue

Cameras will not record on motion due to a firmware issue.  Currently there is a ticket that needs to be re opened and worked on with Illustra.

Motion will not work on JPEG/H264/H265 if the camera was originally configured with the Enhanced Security Mode enabled by default.

<br>

Workaround

Default the camera and log into the GUI of the camera and select Standard security mode.

IP Plugin Overrides

The standard form for exacqVision camera addresses is as follows:

{host}{?parameter_1=value_1}…{?parameter_n=value_n}{#override_1=value_1}…{#override_n=value_n}

  • The host is required and must be in the format of an IPv4 address or FQDN (dot separated domain location).
  • The 1 or more name=value parameters are separated by ? and are optional. These are passed to the device.
  • The 1 or more name=value overrides are separated by # marks and are optional, but always last. These are passed to the plugin to modify plugin behavior.

Override Definitions

OverrideDescription
transportStream session with the specified protocol { TCP | UDP }.
timestampStamp frames with server or camera time.
timezone{ UTC | camera | server } Determine if camera timezone is set to UTC+0, left as camera or set to that of server.
zoomOverride configuration or operation zoom function.
blocksizeOn by default, but could turn off blocksize in the RTSP session for some cameras with streaming issues.
profileConnect to profile number N; N is a number from 1 to the number of profiles supported by the camera.
natSupport NAT translation to WAN address.
bankSelect 4 channel encoder banks. N is 1 – number of banks, usually in set { 1 | 2 | 3 | 4}.
supportOverride support API. For example, used by Vivotek to support either legacy or oneFw.
streamSelect a specific stream ID for devices supporting multiple streams.
trackSelect a specific track for devices supporting multiple media tracks.
tunnelportWorkaround for our XML and GUI only giving us one box for port. Used if tunnel port is different than CGI and does not come from CGI.
embed_portValue does not matter. Forces RTSP URL inside tunnel to put port in the URI if it is default. A small selection of cameras need ip:554 even when in a tunnel over 80

Illustra Pro Gen2 Domes 2/3/5 MP experiencing motion event issues

Description

Affects 2/3/5MP Pro Gen2 Dome with motion set to ON and could not be turned off. This only affected Pro Gen2 DOME models.

Models affected include:
IPS02D2OCWIT
IPS02D2ISWIT
IPS03D2OCWIT
IPS03D3OCWIT
IPS03D2ISWIT
IPS05D2OCWIY
IPS05D2ISWIY
<br>

Tested Version

ExacqVision Server 8.0.4.104612

<br>

Platform

All platforms

<br>

Steps to reproduce

  • Connect to a 2/3/5 megapixel Pro Gen2 Dome with firmware 1.2.0.
  • Generate motion activity in the camera’s field of view.

<br>

Expected result

  • Motion event is generated as expected.

<br>

Actual result

  • Motion event is inconsistent.

<br>

Work Around

The camera firmware group has recommended the following:

1. Video stream 1 or 2 has be H.264.
2. The illustra3 plugin does not allow changing of context stream 2 but have seen cases where the iAPI3 shows h264 and still not setting motion. One way to verify is go to the ‘Event and Actions’->’Analytics’->’Motion Detection’ of the camera web page. If stream 2 is not set correctly, it would show a popup dialog with message ‘Operation Failed: No H264 stream found or stream too large’. In this case, just make sure to set stream 2 to H.264 and resolution of 1920×1440 or lower from the camera web page and reconnect the camera from EV client.
3. Medium or Low motion sensitivity is recommended.
4. Stream 2 should be H.264 and set to a resolution of 1920×1440 or lower.

Do not downgrade Illustra camera firmware on cameras that use iAPI3 interface

Affected Platforms

Illustra cameras running firmware that supports the iAPI3 inteface, including the i625 PTZ, i825 Fisheye and 2/3/5 MP Pro series models.

Description

Do not downgrade the firmware on any Illustra cameras using the iAPI3 interface. This can cause corruption and some iAPI3 requests could return “Internal Server Error” messages. In some cases, video will not stream.

Workaround

Reset the unit back to factory default firmware version and upgrade from there as neccessary. Documents and firmware are attached to this KB

This process requires requesting a service account password from Tyco based on the MAC address of the unit.

Resolution

None

exacqVision Multistreaming on Illustra 825 Fisheye Cameras

If you want Stream 1 on an Illustra 825 Fisheye camera to be anything other than Fisheye, you must change it in the camera’s web browser. If you have aready configured multistreaming on the camera in exacqVision Client, you must delete the multistreams before changing Stream 1 in the browser.
<br>

The following stream combinations are supported on the camera:
<br>

Notes

  • If Fisheye is selected as Stream 1, and Ceiling Panorama is selected as Stream 2, the rest of the streams are disabled and are not selectable for multistreaming in exacqVision Client. This is the factory-default combination.
  • Streams 3, 4, and 5 can be configured as Active Image only if Active Image is also configured on Stream 1 or 2 (or both).
  • All Active Image streams share the same video settings.
