Steps to Reproduce
- Re-image a G-Series Micro Unit to an Ubuntu OS image above 18.04 LTS
Expected Results
The sysprep process should not fail
Actual Results
The sysprep process fails
Solution
- Re-image to Ubuntu 18.04 LTS from sysprep USB key instead of using 20.04 LTS or 22.04 LTS image.
- Run the following commands to step up in OS versions:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt dist-upgrade
sudo apt autoremove
sudo do-release-upgrade -f DistUpgradeViewGtk3

IMPORTANT: This article reflects G-Series Micros built prior to mid-2024.
To factory reset the bios for G-Series Micro, you need to follow these steps:-
1-Unplug power cable from the Unit
2-Remove the 4x Phillips Chassis screws
3-Remove bottom and top cover
4-Remove the RAM stick
5-Plug in power cable (should turn on automatically), and Wait ~10 seconds
6-Unplug power cable
7-Assemble back the RAM stick
8-Carefully unplug the RTC Battery from the 2pin connector
9-Plug power cable (should turn on automatically)
10-Shutdown the PC
11-Unplug the power cable
12-Plug the RTC Battery back in
13-Plug Power cable
BIOS settings should be reset to defaults now
If you run in to an issue on a G-series where the Data and Management Ports show a MAC address of 02-00-00-00-00-00 you will need to reimage the NVR with the latest Linux Image RETAIL1804-21.03.4.zip Added: May 11, 2021 or newer.

The G-Series PoE line, which consolidates/replaces the M-Series and LC UNA, is now available in a 16 Port option. The existing 4 and 8 Port machines will now come with Professional licenses as well. LC systems are no longer being manufactured.

This machine should be troubleshot similar to any machine with the standard exacqVision Linux image.
The Power Supplies between the different versions are NOT interchangeable.
The 16 Port includes OS-on-SSD, the 4 and 8 Port do not.
Both graphics connections can be used simultaneously. If 2 monitors are connected, the 2nd is automatically configured for Extended Desktop.

Other information
This machine should be troubleshot similar to any machine with the standard exacqVision Linux image. Like the LC, the Operating System will reside on the spinning Hard Drive. If the drive is replaced, the machine will need to be re-imaged.
