How to use the Camera Inspection tool

Enterprise Manager (EM), formerly known as Enterprise System Manager (ESM), includes a feature called Camera Inspection which allows EM users to notate cameras which need attention for a later date.

This handy feature means you can easily create a punch list of cameras which need attention for integrator/installer work orders to do things such as:

  • Clean camera domes/lenses
  • Maintain camera focus on subjects
  • Trim foliage or remove debris blocking camera views
  • Re-orient camera field of view if a camera has been tampered with or nudged
  • Investigate network issues<br><br>

  1. Log into Enterprise Manager (EM) with an account that has live viewing privileges.
    See Configuring live video streams in Enterprise Manager<br><br>
  2. Beneath the Cameras header on the navigation menu, click on Inspection.<br><br>
  3. A paginated view of available cameras is displayed. Each camera listed will display the Server Group name / Server name / Camera name at the top of its box.
    • Orange border = Has not been checked
    • Green border = Marked Good
    • Red border = Marked Bad
  1. To work effectively a reference image would have been set when the camera was added/installed. This image appears on the left and can be set using the Use current image as camera image link on the camera details page.<br><br>
  2. Use the Camera Inspection page by comparing the current snapshot on the right with the one on the left. <br><br>
    • Mark Good if you are pleased that the current snapshot indicates no action is needed.
    • Mark Bad if further action is needed.
    • Clicking the View Details link allows the user to enter additional comments, such as “Camera is out of focus”, or, “Camera dome needs cleaned”. Comments could also include notes about the person or date/time an issue was resolved. The bottom corner allows navigating through all cameras one by one while in the details/comments view.
  1. After marking each camera, you may export a report to provide your integrator/installer.

  2. After issues have been fixed, use the Camera Inspection tool to Mark Fixed.<br><br>

EM Displaying Red Banner and DataRoll Off with high Resource Consumption

Description 

EM experiencing High resources and data roll off banner.

Product 

Enterprise Manager 23.03
Windows 10

Steps to Reproduce 

  • Log into EM and if you see a Red Roll Off Banner.
  • Check system resources for high CPU and Memory.
  • Check Data Roll off logs for the following error.

psycopg2.errors.ForeignKeyViolation: update or delete on table "organization_enterpriseuser" violates foreign key constraint "auditlogger_auditlog_user_id_fbf03342_fk_organizat" on table "auditlogger_auditlog"

DETAIL: Key (id)=(2) is still referenced from table "auditlogger_auditlog"

Expected Results 

We should not see high Resources and Data Roll Off Banner.

Actual Results 

High Memory, CPU, and Red Banner Data Roll Off.

Solution

Update to exacqVisionEnterpriseManager_23.06.101.0_x64.exe or official EM release 23.06.

EM server can’t update the web service and showing “Remote Restriction”

Description

When connecting the web service to the EM server, The EM server can connect to the web service. However, it can’t push an update to it or remotely administrate the web service and keeps going back and force between “Remote Restriction” and “Running

Solution

This issue has been fixed on Enterprise Manager Version 23.03.103 or above

Description

when the Datarolloff service is failing to start you may see this error or a similar error in the datarolloff log file. There is a foreign key constraint that is failing to delete which in turns stops the service from running, you must delete this constraint manually via the Database

You must delete the key constraint from the database

Starting ElasticSearch service with a service account

Description

In some production environments, service accounts are used to run Enterprise Manager services. In order for the ElasticSearch to run it creates a tmp directory from the account it was installed under, this can cause the service to not run if you try starting the service as a different user. there are two ways you can get this service to run, the first way is to install Enterprise Manager as the service account by either logging in and installing the exe or right clicking the exe and selecting ” run as different user”. Another way to get this service to run is to go into the C:\Program Files\exacqVision\EnterpriseManager\Elasticsearch\bin , you must run elasticsearch-service-enterprise-manager.bat go to java options and change the user from this line

Djava.io.tmpdir=C:\Users\UserAccount\AppData\Local\Temp\elasticsearch

hit apply and go to services, right click the elasticsearch service, select log on and input the user account you wanted to start.

Corrupted Failover group causing EM to drop servers

Issue

When running EM version 22.09 or lower if you see your servers constantly connecting and then disconnecting, please check the EM logs specifically the importer log you should find something similar to this log..

The failover process is dying constantly which is killing the importer, if you check your failover groups the issue would show as “data restore pending” if you aren’t able to abandon the data please delete the failover group via EM shell.

Using NT authentication when connecting to MSSQL database

ExacqVision currently doesn’t support NT authentication when validating credentials to a MSSQL database (Enterprise Manager), we require to use SQL server authentication. A feature enhancement ticket has been submitted for NT authentication.

Invalid column error after updating Enterprise Manager using MSSQL database from 21.12 or lower to 22.06 or higher

Description 

If you are using mssql database with EM and updating from 21.12 or lower to 22.06 you will get the crying stickman when trying to log into the web gui. When checking the webservice logs you will get invalid column errors such as..

][ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server][SQL Server]Invalid column name ‘lastSaveOrUpdate’. (207) (SQLExecDirectW);

Steps to Reproduce 

Download Enterprise Manager 22.06 (or higher) installer package

Install the package

Try to reach EM via web Gui

Log in using known credentials

Expected Results 

Logs in successfully and able to see configuration
