Motion Detection Fails on HikVision DS-6716HUHI-K Encoder

Description

The HikVision DS-6716HUHI-K encoder fails to record when set to motion detection recording schedule in exacqVision.

Note: This device has been deprecated by the manufacturer.

Product

  • exacqVision Server

Steps to Reproduce

  • Connect a HikVision DS-6716HUHI-K using any firmware version and set schedule to record on motion
  • Trigger a Motion Detection event in an analog camera connected to this device

Expected Results

Motion is detected and video is recorded

Actual Results

Motion is not detected and video is not recorded

Solution

We have found that updating the device to firmware version v3.5.31_221207 resolves the issue.

Video Channel Fails to Connect With Error 551 on Samsung SPE-1610N Encoder

Description

SPE-1610N encoders had video loss on the first channel of banks 2, 3, & 4.  Also, the connection status would go from connected to Connection Error 551.

Product

exacqVision Server 19.12

Steps to Reproduce

Add encoder as device type Samsung; add banks 2, 3, & 4 with the #bank=x override.

Expected Results

All channels display video

Actual Results

Video loss on the first channel of banks 2, 3, & 4 and the connection status will go to connection error 551

Solution

Introduced with Audio Out Support in 19.12.0, the first video channel of the second third or fourth bank fails to connect with error 551 if two-way audio is enabled.

The workaround is to disable audio out channel(s) or update to exacqVision Server version 20.06.xx

HD Analog Cameras are not Natively Supported on exacqVision Hybrid Servers

Title

HD Analog Cameras are not Natively Supported on exacqVision Hybrid Servers

Description

exacqVision hybrid servers do not natively support HD analog cameras too include HD-TVI, HD-SDI, HD-CVI and AHD

Product

exacqVision Server

Solution

An encoder which supports HD analog will be required to connect an HD analog camera to an exacqVision Server.   Please check the IP Camera Integration database, https://exacq.com/integration/ipcams/, for encoders compatible with exacqVision.

Adding Multi-Channel Encoders

Description

In order to accommodate more than 4 channels of video, many multi-channel encoders require the use of the “bank” IP plugin override. The cameras test records should indicate this in the Notes.

Solution

  • 1st bank channels 1-4, no override required
  • 2nd bank channels 5-8, #bank=2
  • 3rd bank channels 9-12, #bank=3
  • 4th bank channels 13-16 #bank=4

For Example, assuming the cameras IP address is 192.168.1.1:

1st bank would be:192.168.1.1
2nd bank would be:192.168.1.1#bank=2
3rd bank would be:192.168.1.1#bank=3
4th bank would be:192.168.1.1#bank=4

E-Series 1-channel and 4-channel Official Firmware Version

INTERNAL NOTE: E-Series Encoders are EOM and non-NDAA compliant devices.

<br>

Some E-series encoders are having trouble with network communication. Attempts to connect with ExacqVision server, E-series utility or even find using ARP commands fail.

<br>

It was found that some encoders were shipped with firmware 1.2.0.150420 pre-installed. This firmware is for testing only.

<br>

The official firmware release for the 1-channel and 4-channel Exacq E-Series encoders is 1.2.0.140801.

Vivotek VS8801 Encoder Enabling 2nd NIC for exacqVision

Title

Vivotek VS8801 Encoder Enabling 2nd NIC for exacqVision

Description

This encoder requires the use of two IP addresses to view all 8 channels of video.  The first NIC allows access to channels 1-4 and the second NIC allows access to channels 5-8.  The following are instructions for enabling the 2nd NIC on the Vivotek VS8801 encoder.

Product

Vivotek VS8801 Encoder
exacqVision Server

Solution

  • Enable the 2nd NIC by accessing the the following URL
  • http://<ipaddress>/cgi-bin/admin/setparam.cgi?network_openip2=1
  • Where <ipaddress> is the actual IP address of the encoder.
  • The web page should echo the command setting to confirm that it has been successfully set
  • Open the encoders web page
  • Navigate to network configuration and ensure that the second NIC is now available
  • Configure the 2nd NIC
  • The encoder can now be added in exacqVision using the first IP address for channels 1-4 and the 2nd IP address for channels 5-8.

ACTi Encoder Multistream Connectivity

ACTi encoder connections require port numbers along with IP addresses to connect to multiple streams (where available). The port numbers for each stream on the encoder should increase incrementally starting with 800.

For example, if the IP address of an encoder with four analog streams is 192.168.101.25, the following IP and port number combinations must be entered on the exacqVision Client camera configuration page to connect the stream to the client:

  1. 192.168.101.25 port #800
  2. 192.168.101.25 port #801
  3. 192.168.101.25  port #802
  4. 192.168.101.25  port #803
