Bosch Security Integration Causing Operating System to Crash

Description 

As soon as you enable (check the Bosh integration profile . the system will reboot the exacq server service.

Product 

Server Version 20.03 up to 22.12 were experiencing this crash.
Panel in use: Bosch B9512GT

Steps to Reproduce 

Configure the Add Security Integrations Page in the Client

  • Select the Enable button
  • The server would lock up forcing the end user to restart the system.

Expected Results 

Exacq should not crash.

Actual Results 

The unit would crash as long as the Bosch Panel was connected to the network.

Solution

We found a timing bug that resolved the issue in Build ExacqVisionServer_23.03.174701.1_x64
This should be in the June 2023 official release.

Bosch Analytics on Newer FW

Description 

On newer versions of Bosch FW analytics will not work on Exacq. Bosch FW 7.61 is the latest confirmed working version.

Steps to Reproduce 

  • Configure analytics on Bosch camera.
  • Add camera to exacq server.
  • Setup analytics event linking.

Expected Results 

Analytics are seen and are able to be setup in event linking

Actual Results 

No analytics are seen in event linking.

Solution

As this is a Bosch FW issue it needs to be resolved by Bosch they are aware and are working on a resolution. They have estimated this as September 2022 but have not given confirmation.

Motion Frames Out of Order on Bosch Cameras

If you see motion images from a Bosch camera that appear to be out of order, the issue can often be resolved by selecting a different setting for the camera’s GOP Structure. To change the setting, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the camera’s web configuration page by entering it’s IP address in an Internet browser.
  2. Open the Settings page and select Advanced Mode in the menu on the left.
  3. Select the Cameras entry and then Encoder Profile.
  4. Click the Expert Settings button to reveal additional options, including GOP Structure.
  5. Make sure IP (which stands for I Frames, B Frames, and P Frames) is selected in the GOP Structure drop-down list.
  6. Click Set to enable the selected settings.

Pixelated Video on Bosch ONVIF Cameras

If live video from a Bosch ONVIF camera displays pixelization in exacqVision Client, complete the following steps:

  1. Browse to the camera’s advanced mode Encoder Profile page.
  2. Ensure that IP is selected in the GOP Structure drop-down list.
  3. Ensure that the I-frame Distance slider is configured for a low number (10, for example).
  4. Ensure that I-frame Quality and P-frame Quality are set to Auto.
