Part I: Enter the 3Ware BIOS
- Restart the system through the operating system.
- When prompted, press Alt+3 to enter the 3ware RAID BIOS.
- Type admin256 as the password.
- Press any key to acknowledge the warning.

Part II: Create the New Array
- Press the Tab key to navigate to the top of the list of drives listed as Exportable Unit. Highlight single drive under Direct Attached and press Enter. The drive should have asterisk (*) next to it.
- Press the Tab key to enter the lower menu.
- Navigate to Create Array and press Enter.
- Select the following sections (Enter) and choose the following settings:
- Array Name: ExacqX (where X is the drive number you are replacing)
- RAID Configuration: Single Drive
- Stripe Size: N/A
- Write Cache Setting: Enabled
- Read Cache Setting: Intelligent
- StorSave Profile: Performance
- Auto-Verify: Enabled
- Rapid RAID Recovery: N/A
- Select Advanced, press Enter, and choose the following settings:
- Boot Volume Size: blank
NOTE: If you DO NOT have a separate device for the operating system, Boot Volume Size should be 57. Only one Boot Volume is needed as this is where the OS will be installed. - Drive Querying Mode: Enabled
- Continue on Error When Rebuild: N/A
- Initialize Method: Background
- Boot Volume Size: blank
- Navigate to OK and press Enter.
- Press Y to confirm cache settings.
- Confirm that the values are correct and press Enter.
- Move the new drive back to its original place in the list:
- Select the new drive (ExacqX) in the Exportable Unit list.
- Use the Page Up key to move the drive back to where it was previously. NOTE: The operating system drive should be at the top.
- Press F8 to apply settings.
- Press Y to save the configuration and exit.
- You can now load the operating system as described in the OS Recovery Instructions.
