The Log Reference can be accessed using the “Logs” menu item on the Exacq Support Portal.
Legend
Since logs are generated using many different variables, use the following to interpret.
|
(Pipe) is used for “OR”
***
Three asterisks represent a Wildcard
%1,%2,%3…
These are Variables explained in the description
Do NOT paste an entire log line in the search box
Because of the many possible variables, searching an entire line will likely return no results. Instead, use a couple of words from the log entry to find what you need.
For example, searching for the log:
Successful login – administrator from address 192.168.2.2 (socket 55856).
Will not return any results.
But searching for
Successful login
Returns the proper result and explains what the different variables are.
Filtering
Use the Plugin Search and Level drop-downs to further filter your results if needed. You can also enter text into the Plugin Search.
Yes, All of the NVR’s we provide allow the use of the Web Services to run on that local machine. There are exceptions to this with the different hardware we provide. There are scenarios that might impede the performance on any Operating System, given the work load or use case for said machine.
One example of this is if we are using high resolutions, high FPS, and quality for the cameras being viewed. This can cause a direct performance decrease when viewing from thin client or Exacq Mobile 3 application.
Performance of both the local client and the Web Server could be noticeably slower due to CPU capability. A system with an Intel Atom processor, for example, will experience a performance tradeoff for the low power consumption and reduced cost of this processor.
The exacqVision Web Service is used to transcode streams. As a result, higher Frames Per Second and Resolutions of cameras have increased over the past few years allowing for the potential load on the web service to be greater in proportion to that of the Web Browser Clients. This could be seen as well on LC units, and even on the A series units with Core 3 processor depending on the load that is on the web service.
Another example might be on exacqVision G and Q systems, the Intel Celeron processor can run exacqVision Client and Web Server simultaneously. The exacqVision Client performance is still dependent on the processor.
For example: For Professional requirements see the Client Workstation Hardware Requirements found in the link below.
Under the System Requirements is a list of recommended hardware.
In certain scenarios overloading the CPU can result in lower display frame rates and black screens. To help Mitigate these issues, adjust the cameras settings to meet the demand of the CPU. Lowering the resolution, frames per second and quality of the cameras setting can help reduce this behavior. If available, another way is to mitigate this behavior would be to create a custom view with secondary streams for the camera. This allows the ability to see a lower stream quality at the Web Browser Clients, or Exacq Mobile 3 application while maintaining the recording of the higher quality stream at the recorder.
The Exacq Mobile 3 server Login button is non-responsive on some Samsung S22 devices when the phone is in portrait orientation.
Product
Samsung S22
Android 12 UI 4.1
NOTE: This issue may not be limited to just this device
Steps to Reproduce
In the Exacq Mobile 3 application, go to Configuration > Servers
Add a New Server
Enter the Server Address, Username and Password
Press LOGIN
Expected Results
The user is logged into the server successfully
Actual Results
The LOGIN button is none responsive
Solution
Rotate the phone to change the orientation to landscape, the LOGIN button should now work normally. This appears to be a Samsung OS issues as similar issues are present on other apps.
When the license expires for an exacqVision Server, the software continues to function, and you will see an Indicator letting you know that your SSA (Software Subscription Agreement) has expired.
By default, any user with a user role of ‘Full Admin’ or ‘Power User’ will see this indicator.
Product
exacqVision Server
Solution
If you have specific Users which do not need to see this indicator, they will need to be assigned a different user role.
Axis Cameras running Firmware 9.0 and above fail to connect and stream video when configured to use a hostname instead of IP address and the protocol in the exacqVision Client has been set to HTTPS Required.
Product
Axis Firmware 9.0 and above
exacqVision Server 22.06
Steps to Reproduce
Make sure the camera has a self-signed certificate and that the network and the server are set up accordingly. This would require a DNS pointer to be created.<br><br>
Log into the camera’s web interface and navigate to certificate section.<br><br>
Choose the appropriate certificate action. <br><br>
Navigate to the HTTP/HTTPS menu.<br><br>
Verify the Allow access through option is set to ‘HTTP and HTTPS’.
In the exacqVision Client:
Go to Add IP Cameras.
In the Hostname/IP Address field, enter the hostname of the camera instead of the camera’s IP address.
In the Protocol drop down box, select ‘HTTPS Required’.
<br>
Expected Results
The camera should connect and stream video.
<br>
Actual Results
The camera fails to connect.
The Status shows “Device not Streaming” and the Troubleshooting Steps are “Device not streaming. The device is connected but video hasn’t been received in the last 10 seconds.”
Solution
Within the Add IP Cameras page of the client:
Disable the camera.<br><br>
Append #transport=tcp to the hostname already listed.
Example: “axis-b8a44f307314” would become “axis-b8a44f307314#transport=tcp”<br><br>
MegaRAID Storage Manager (MSM) has been found to have some exposure to CVE-2021-44228, the Apache Log4j remote code execution vulnerability, see statement from Broadcom Log4j2 Exposure (CVE-2021-44228). It is possible that MSM was installed on your exacqVision NVR even though a RAID controller card is not present. If that is the case MSM can be uninstalled using the following instructions.
NOTE: If the NVR has a RAID controller card please see one of our Replacing MegaRAID Storage Manager (MSM) Knowledge Base Articles for other options.

A-series Desktop unit is rebooting and stuck on the BIOS password page,
And when checking in the BIOS, the system drive will be missing and needs to reboot to boot up to windows.
Resolution:-
There is an issue confirmed by the manufacturer that the new sound card that has been added to the A-Series Desktop units in Feb 2022 would make an issue with the current BIOS version P1.50E and needs to be updated to BIOS firmware version P1.60A
you will need first to download the new FW version from this link Here then copy it to the root folder on a USB Key formatted with Fat32
Enter BIOS by pressing Del at startup and entering admin256 password.
Press the right arrow once, over to the Advanced tab.
All the way down in the list is the Instant Flash option, press enter.
It will detect the file on the USB key. Press enter to select and start flash.
Don’t remove the USB key or power off the system until the flash is complete.
Once complete, remove the USB Key and press Enter then, the system will restart twice and boot as normal.
you can confirm that the Motherboard bios have been updated by going to the client software and then the Configure System page and looking for system information
The following is a list of differences that will be found when comparing the exacqVision Client running on an M-Series server and that of the client running on any other machine.
Product
Embedded exacqVision Client
exacqVision M-Series
Solution
Important: These differences only apply to the exacqVision Client running on the M-Series itself! If you are using a client on a different machine these restrictions will not be there. Case in point. Locally on the M Series you cannot view 5mp cameras due to a decoding limit on the hardware. However, they record fine, and can be viewed on remote clients.
Embedded Client GUI
Description
The embedded client is the full edvrclient GUI with some small modifications
Client Differences

Client side dewarping
Limitations
No opacity support over video. We do some rounding to 0%, 50%, and 100%, where 50% draws with a crash hatch pattern
Decoder limitations. You may get “Unable to decode” if we run out of decoder resources.
NOTE: Resolutions must be less than 1936×1936 (Decoder imposed limitation, originally chosen for pre-allocating all decoder buffers)Failed to allocate resources for the decoder (out of resources before attempting to decode).Failed to decode the first 20 frames of a stream without. This could mean we’re out of resources or the decoder may not be able to decode the stream, but we don’t know which. Attempted to use video out (display) but another instance already has video out locked. Only one client instance can display video at a time. Close the other client and retry.
Differences
Limited to 9 panel layouts and below
PDF help instead of CHM help
Live defaults to 2×2 with no cameras on startup
Default timeout is enabled at 1 minute
Audio and client disk space indicators disabled by default
Default associations opacity = 0 (vs 50)
All trees no longer have a system level
System selection is hidden on all pages that have it
The config tree item that used to say the system name now says “System Information”
No GPU decoding support
Admin mode vs User mode
NOTE: These differences are not specific to dynacolor. They are the same as the differences between the “User” account and “Admin” account on a regular Linux image.
Only available in admin mode:
As a rule of thumb anything that needs to open a browser should not work
