Someone asks, “What is my FQDN, Hostname or IP Address I need to put in to my Firewall for Exacq Cloud-Integrated Services Portal to work correctly?”
It is the customers URL they access for the Integrated Services Portal https://exa001.exacq.net the part in BOLD is specific to them and starts with three letters and followed by three numbers. It uses port 35111 for outbound connections.
Configuring outbound connections
About this task
To configure an outbound connection, connect the exacqVision client to the server. On the Outbound Connections tab, you can connect to services outside the system’s network, such as exacqVision Enterprise Manager or exacqVision Integrator Services Portal. Using an outbound connection, it is not necessary to configure inbound firewall rules for exacqVision Enterprise Manager to reach the server. Ensure that the server has outbound access on port 35111.
Procedure
To configure an outbound connection, complete the following steps:
- In the Configuration pane, click System Configuration.
- Click the Outbound Connections tab.
- In the exacqVision Enterprise Manager configuration pane, click Configure.
- From the Server Account list, select an Admin user configured on the server for exacqVision Enterprise Manager to use.
- Enter the email address, and password of your exacqVision Enterprise Manager dealer account.
- Click OK.
Results
If the exacqVision server can reach exacqVision Enterprise Manager, the URL of the exacqVision Enterprise Manager dealer instance populates in the outbound connections list.

exacqVision is an open platform that integrates with a plethora of third party offerings – video analytics, access control, intrusion, license plate recognition, vape detection and many more domains. A small portion of these integrations require the installation of a special plugins from exacqVision. Those can be downloaded here.
The exacqVision Web Service allows you to use a web browser to view live video, search and play back recorded video, and control pan/tilt/zoom functions on cameras connected to exacqVision servers. The Web Service connects to the exacqVision server as a client and transcodes captured video into JPEG files. The service then sends the JPEGs to the browser as fast as requested by the browser, or as fast as possible if the requested rate is too high for the connection.
exacqVision Enterprise Manager features a web-based dashboard that provides at-a-glance status of the environment’s health and manage exacqVision servers deployed on the customer premise. Features include rules, alerts, software and licensing updates, config backups, camera inspection etc. Recordings are safeguarded with Enterprise Manager’s built-in failover solution that protects critical data. Enterprise Manager is available for free to work with exacqVision servers licensed at Enterprise level. This software is pre-installed on EM-Series servers or can be installed on third-party physical or virtual servers.
Exacq Mobile 3 apps are available for iOS and Android. Click the links below to download the relevant version for your device.
exacqVision Client is used to view live video, do investigations and much more. It is an application that runs on a wide variety of operating systems.
exacqVision Server is the core software application that implements the bulk of functionality offered by the exacqVision product line. The exacqVision Server connects to cameras, records video/audio/events data to the storage disks and makes it available for downstream consumption. This component does not have a user interface and requires a client software to be able to interact with it.
It can be installed on Windows or Ubuntu operating systems. It supports Exacq built hardware, third party hardware or VM environments.
By default, the server install comes with a free license for adding single camera. Please refer to this KB article on how to apply newly purchased licenses to exacqVision. Each license comes with software updates (“SSA”) support. The number of years of SSA support can be checked by following the instructions here.
