A small percentage of exacqVision systems with Intel 82574L and 82579LM network adapters have been found to exhibit widely fluctuating network performance and then lock up. The problem can be resolved by updating the adapter firmware.
To determine whether your system contain these adapters and require the update, follow the following process appropriate for your operating system:
Windows Systems
- Click on Start, then Control Panel, then Device Manager, and look for the Network Adapters entry. If you have either or both Intel 82574L & 82579LM, proceed with the following steps.
- Download the latest LAN firmware for the motherboard from https://exacq.com/reseller/LAN_Drivers_10252012.zip. (The username required to download the file is guest, and the password is exacqvisionip.)
- Extract the contents of the file into a temporary folder.
- Navigate to the appropriate folder based on theWindows version running (32 bits or 64 bits).
- Double-click on the executable file and follow the prompts.
- After the process is complete, restart the system.
Linux Systems:
- Open a Terminal window and type lspci –nn. Look for the network adapters; if either Intel 82574L & 82579LM is listed, proceed with the following steps.
- Download the latest LAN firmware for the motherboard from https://exacq.com/reseller/LAN_Drivers_10252012.zip. (The username required to download the file is guest, and the password is exacqvisionip.)
- Extract the contents of the file into a temporary folder.
- Navigate to Linux folder and double-click on the .deb file.
- Follow the prompts until completion, and then restart the system.
